Torstar Announces Participation In Bell Globemedia Inc. Transaction

TORONTO, ONTARIO – September 7, 2006 – Torstar Corporation announced today that it subscribed for additional equity in Bell Globemedia in connection with Bell Globemedia’s acquisition of CHUM Limited. Torstar invested approximately $94 million to maintain its 20% interest in Bell Globemedia.
